I have lived a life of creative pursuits, always doing something with my hands. This chapter began in 1995 when I treated a friend to a wire class. She finished the class and went home. I went back for another class and another, and thus began my love affair with wire and beads. My wire skills were honed by Lynne Merchant; my artist’s voice refined by NanC Meinhardt. My love for the art of wire and beads is followed closely by my love of teaching. Introducing others to the use of these wonderful materials so they can begin a creative adventure of their own is a meaningful job and one I enjoy doing.
My art jewelry has been published in Beading Daily e-magazine; BeadWork; “Capture the Dragon” was featured in Belle Armoire Jewelry Spring 2009 issue; and most recently “Fire and Ice” was published Jewelry Designs with Art Glass Beads a special issue from Bead & Button, October 2009.
I have been working with wire and beads for 15 years, teaching for 11. I design jewelry, wire embroidery sculpture and most recently art yarn for my business, Solamente. My classes are offered in southern California and at art events and bead shows around the country. I continue to practice art making as a member of Vista Point Artists and I expand my skills and add techniques by taking classes from other artists.
