Hammered Cuff 9 - 4 Wednesday Riki Schumacher $145
Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Project
Prerequisite: None
Jewelry has been made for thousands of year with hammered wire. The exercise of hammering wire is truly an art. Join me in pounding your way to a fabulous one of a kind cuff, made to fit your individual wrist. Make your cuff wide or on the narrower side, depending on the number of strands used. You will attach the strands into bullet end caps that you etch! After working the shape of the wire to fit your wrist, all the parts and pieces are joined. I think these bracelets have a rustic yet romantic look. There are a few little tricks to getting all these components to work together, and I can’t wait to share them with you. This design makes a fabulously strong and noticeably different work of hand made jewelry art. Learn to hammer this rich bronze wire, trickier than you think, how to etch bullet casings, the art of using a micro butane torch, how in the heck to get all that wire into the end cap, and so many more techniques. So won’t you join me for my “Hammered Cuff” workshop?
