    Base Taille is a form of etching to create a pattern or design, which creates a chiaroscuro effect when it is filled with transparent enamels. You will practice enameling on a pre etched pendant while your bracelet pieces are etching.

    Kit Fee of $25 payable to Instructor at class time includes (Optional, you may choose to bring your own):

  • Pre cut copper bracelet pieces
  • Pre cut and etched pendant
  • Copper jump rings
  • Etching solution
  • Enamels
  • Small sifter
  • Supplies provided by the Instructor for use in workshop: Torches, Enamel powders

    Tools and Supplies needed if you don’t buy the kit:

  • 20 gauge copper sheet (at least 1 ½” x 12”) or pre-cut shapes
  • 15 - 14 gauge copper wire for jump rings
  • Small enamel sifter
  • Bench pin
  • Jeweler’s saw and blades (#00 and #1)
    Tools all students must bring:
  • Flat and round nose pliers
  • Files, fine sandpaper,
  • Center punch
  • Hammers (small hammers for using the center punch and shaping bracelet pieces)
  • Safety Glasses
  • Dremel tool or similar for drilling and #56 drill bits or 1/16 inch drill bit
  • Apron
  • Rubber gloves
  • #3 Round paint brush
