Renee Lindquist

Farmed out every summer at her grandparents’ country home in Missouri, Renee Lindquist learned early to play alone, and unknowingly embarked on an art education that would ultimately dominate her life. She would busy herself making mud pies and baking them on tree stumps after decorating them with nuts, berries and grass. Later, in Kindergarten, Renee made her first pinch pot, now lost among years of perfected pottery. Renee and her family moved to Houston when she was 8, and once again she found an outlet for her creativity. She dug clay from the creek bed that ran behind her house and began her quest to perfect her techniques.

In high school, Renee’s electives included 4 years of art courses and 3 years of architecture. She then completed 2 years of college art coursework. She has more recently taken up Silver Smithing to gain more perspective on her work and designs. As a result of years of seminars and practice, Ms. Lindquist teaches pottery, ceramics, Raku , and naturally PMC (Precious Metal Clay) at her ceramic shop, The Ceramic and Pottery Center in League City, Texas.

The very first time Renee was introduced to PMC, she could not imagine why anyone would pay that much money for a small lump of clay. That was 10 years ago and now, well she just can’t get enough of it. In fact, she’ll tell you that silver now runs through her veins.

Renee travels far and wide to learn new techniques from the best of the best and has become a PMC Certified Instructor. Her work has also been featured in the PMC Annual

Renee’s work can be seen at her Ceramic and Pottery Shop Her art can be seen at her shop, plus at the 18 Hands Gallery , Hanson Gallery and at Erica Delgardo Jewelry Designs which are in Houston and at the Louisiana Art Association Gallery in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Renee is married to Jeron Lindquist, who is active in the National Guard, and they live in League City, Texas with their cat.
