Triple Catch Journal with Inset - WORKSHOP FILLED -

Terry Tyson

This workshop does not have a fancy title, but is filled with useful, practical and easy-to-learn bookbinding skills. Each attendee will learn the classic “triple-catch over tapes” binding stitch and how to place an inset cover illustration as they make a beautiful blank journal, approximately 5” x 8” in size. In addition, students will learn how to cut text stock from parent sheets using a binding or fettling knife, layout of stitching patterns, cover design and other valuable skills that can be used for other binding projects. This will be an intensive workshop but one that will enhance your bookbinding experience and skill level.

The cost of text stock, cover boards, tapes, glue, thread and other basic supplies to make the book are included in the class fee. Students are encouraged to bring their own cover stock (2 sheets of 8 ½ x 11 inch decorative cover paper) and inset illustration (size may range from 3” x 4” or smaller) as you may not like my selections.
