Terry is a well-known artist and instructor who combines formal and informal training to present workshops that focus on improving skills, processes and artistic concepts while creating unique projects.
"Workshops are the perfect place to experiment and learn at the same time," he says. "At the end of the day, I want students to have more than just 'the thing we made' but information that can be used later when the glue has dried," he continues.
His articles, poetry and art works have been featured in several magazines and television shows as well as being a favorite at art and craft workshops. He brings his training in graphic art, printmaking, and bookbinding to bear while often breaking the rules "just to see what happens!"
Terry says, "There are hundreds of ways to place an image, create a texture, make a shape or give a finish to a surface and I think we should learn as many as humanly possible in a life. As we learn, our 'artist's map' is enhanced and made clearer so that we may take another step towards greater personal expression. At some point we begin to make art that matters and art that is truly our own.that is the ultimate destination."
Terry lives in San Clemente , California with his wife Susan and four-legged daughter, Heidi.
