Have you always wanted to know how to get your work published? Have you had your work published in a magazine and now you're ready for a feature article or maybe even your own book? If you are ready to take the next step or want to find out if you're ready, this class is for you. Take a break from the paint, collage and wonderful creating and join us to learn how to promote yourself and your work.

In this class I will provide you with a comprehensive bound reference guide with submission guidelines, book proposal requirements and general self-promotion tips for the major art magazines and publishers. We will discuss the stages of publishing books, the process of magazine submissions and how you can present yourself as an appealing package to prospective editors. There will be a thorough question and answer period as well as the opportunity to meet with me one on one for a short meeting to discuss your ideas in a private setting during ART Unraveled.

This class will be a fun and lively exchange of ideas and inquiries. Snack will be provided and no supplies are needed! Bring a small portfolio of your work and an optional writing sample for review during your one on one meeting. Bring business or calling cards to exchange during class and start networking!

Jenn Mason is an artist, author, and teacher. Her work has been featured in Paper Crafts, Legacy, Memory Makers and multiple books, national ads and TV. Her first sole authored book Pockets, Pullouts and Hiding Places is published by Rockport Publishing. Jenn is currently working on new books, product licenses and class development. Jenn has a BFA in Graphic Design and Weaving & Textiles from the University of Michigan School of Art and Design.
