Wild Whimsical Magical Winged Women

Note: This is a 6-hour workshop taught in two 3-hour sessions over two days. Lunch is included one day.
Students will make a magical female torso, winged or not. They will learn the art of traditional papier-mache that can be incorporated into many different art forms. They will learn how to create paperclay faces and embellishments. Students will use glossy paints for an enamel effect. These magical winged women are wonderful sculptures or can be used on the cover of an altered book. JUST HAVE FUN! This is both a process and a project oriented workshop – some participants can expect to take home a completed project.
Supplies provided by instructor include: Mache, gesso, paper clay, other paints, collage papers, mache winged sculptural forms, tapes and hangers, 3 bottles of Liquitex glossies acrylic paints, papier-mache torsos, handout
