This is a 1½ day workshop beginning on Wednesday evening and concluding with a full day on Thursday.

Wednesday evening

Create layers of extraordinary translucent pages using a collection of new ideas and techniques in Susan’s new work. Use altered transfers,
tissue and pages to layer, bind and finish an extraordinary, personal journal. Other techniques include rubs, burnings, oil pastel and colored
pencil techniques. Use of found object bezels, mixing and pouring of resins, collage, assemblage, use of color with resin.

Kit fee of $16 payable to instructor at class time includes, tissue, resins, transfers, paper, eyelets, waxed linen, needle, handout

Supply List:
Scissors
Throw away sponge (or paint brush)
Random paper such as drawings, sketches, tissue, pages from an old book, photographs & any personal items to include in your journal

Optional:
Oil pastels, Colored pencils , Found object bezels such as washers, bottle caps or anything with a negative space.

Thursday

Non-Traditional Forms in wire
Journal Cover or bracelet

Manipulate wire as you have never had before to create unusual and interesting dimensional structures. Finished pieces will include new
journal, bracelet or necklace forms, prayer box rings and closures. Using transparent papers created the night before focus is on using your
voice for individuality. Other techniques include new applications on cold join hinging, wire binding and stretching of transparent pages.
This workshop is in combination with “Transparent-Pages, Paper and Plastic”.

Kit fee of $12 payable to instructor at class time includes 16 gauge wire, 26 gauge wire, eyelets, waxed linen

Supply List:

Anvil
Small hammer
Needle nose round and chain nose pliers
Wire snips

Optional:

Beads
Waxed linen, and personal or found objects, 26 gauge dead soft colored wire, fiber, ribbon

Students will receive one lunch ticket for Thursday with this workshop.
