Dorothy Egan

Student Level – Beginner/intermediate

Come explore with us to discover the varied techniques that can be used to transform solid or printed fabrics (even the really ugly ones) into works of art and amazing backgrounds. Just like the caterpillar that emerges from its cocoon, you can watch your fabric morph into something truly beautiful. Using a number of background techniques, layering and highlighting, you’ll create texture, interest and balance through creative use of paints and ink. We will show you quick ways to create your own simple stamps while you experiment with a fabulous new line of fabric paints plus lots of fun stencils and stamps. Each student will leave with a dozen or more pieces and learn many techniques throughout the day that will translate into other creative adventures

Dorothy will be team teaching with Barbara Matthiessen and Chris Malone.
