In this class we are going to transform those plastic Dollar Tree anatomy men (you know, the see through guys with plastic guts). Using a combination of found objects and painting techniques we will transform these dudes into a mad scientist’s dream of gizmos, gears and doodads. We will literally be operating on these little guys with dremels, glues, and screws. We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first modified dollar store anatomy man. Better than he was before. Better…stronger…faster… and, well, cooler looking.
Supply List:
Exacto knife or Scissors
Brushes ( a few detail or line brushes, some flat in different sizes nothing larger than 1"--leave your expensive ones at home)
Gel medium – semi gloss
Paints (white, black, quinacridone gold, red, dioxazine purple, blue, yellow--any others you desire)
Strong clear glue like E 6000 or Liquid Nails Clear
Liquid Nails Original (projects – gold tube with red tab)
Doodads and found objects - Bring various items that you would like to use on your anatomy man- this could be anything! (jewelry, fake flowers, price tags, watch parts, shoelaces, fake eyelashes etc.) As I said, anything. Smaller to mid size items will work a bit better for this project. We'll have a communal pile of do-dads that students are willing to share with others in the class...so, looks like it's time to clean out those dresser drawers and the garage.
