Reach For The Scissors

Kelly Kilmer

Student Level: All levels

As artists we love to spend our hours happily cutting, pasting and gluing. Would you like to expand your knowledge of collage while learning some new design and composition tips, tricks and techniques? Then this is the perfect class for you! Kelly has developed a brand new series of classes that focus on composition and design skills and techniques. These are techniques that professional artists use (ya know, the ones that are making money with their artwork). Like all of her classes she strives to make each one unique and different. You will learn a plethora of new techniques in this class. It’s a guarantee you'll be reaching for your scissors, glue stick and any paper you can get your hands on!

Learn a variety of new tips, tricks and techniques while creating an unusual project. You will walk away with several pages completed and the inspiration to continue working with collage, design and composition with lots of new ideas and techniques.

Instructor will provide : an array of mixed media supplies (including professional artist quality acrylic paints and mediums), a vast variety of rubber stamps, collage ephemera

Supply list:

Your Journal or several sheets of heavy cardstock to work on
Scissors
Cork backed metal ruler
One permanent black ink pad (like Versafine or Memories)
Full roll of paper towels
Full roll of waxed paper
Container for water
3 bristle brushes or favorite brushes to paint and glue with

Please bring some collage ephemera-copies please-as you will be tearing them up for collage and reworking them.  You will need focal images and background things (I will have some things for you to choose from as well. Some students like to use specific and personal items in class. Please do not bring a ton of collage ephemera as it can be overwhelming but a large Hefty ziploc bag is sufficient).
