Build an over the top-bejeweled handmaiden's book that celebrates the girly goddesses, matrons, queens and prima donna’s of the Universe. You’ll lavishly decorate pages with paper dolls, and embellish queens, dainty girls, frumpy, frilly silly girls, or saucy goddess queen self. Easily create beaded borders and covers to enshrine this angelic book. This class is a mixed media journey to create a book unlike any other honoring the feminine spirit! Anne Grgich will share her new passionate book and ongoing creative process in a generous, spirit-lifted day.
Kit Fee: of $10.00 payable to instructor at class time includes a range of materials for use in books: some goddess collage, pretty papers, wires, holes punch, sand paper, self leveling gel, ribbons, lace, velvet scraps, matte board, opalescent paint, gold leaf, acrylic paints- brushes and b eads and some jewelry, pliers, hole punch, some glues and glue guns and handouts with illustrated instructions
Supply List:
Junk jewelry - A sufficient amount of old jewelry to embellish. God loves the gaudy Goddess!
Old rhinestones
Gorilla Glue or Hard as Nails or a tube of liquid household cement glue
L ightweight matching plastic or wood frames - check thrift stores, ebay*
Goddess collage materials
Ceramic doll heads
Goddess poems
Miniature goddesses or dolls (to create hybrid goddess queens)
Bows, ribbons
Old jewelry box trinkets
Favorite pretty little things
Loads of cheap pearl necklaces
Swatches of velvet, ribbons, and lace,
Sequins
4-5 Pre-cut heavy paper for pages to fit the inside of the picture frame
Scissors
Clear Glass Glitter/Angel Dust-Glitter
A minimum of 1.50 cups clear glass mosaics and/or colored glass mosaic pieces
*If you can’t find matching frames, you can contact Annie for ideas or more images of her book to get ideas.
Optional items: Broken doll parts, small ceramic doll heads, Judikins "Amazing Glaze", heat gun, extra Super Glue, wire, a sheet of patterned paper, beads, thrift-store bags of costume jewelry, precious baubles, old dangly earrings, small dolls, cameos, ivory buttons, ephemera, lettering, special stamps, stickers, sea shells, opulent fabric scraps, gold, lace, small pieces of brocade, if have on hand needlepoint square, or heavy fabric for binding, and any kind of miniature bauble, knick knacks, tassels, or beautiful-expendable do-dads-and recycle transformative debris...
Remember, bring only what you love, please pre-select what you want to use before packing paint pens.
