Funky Faux Patchwork Purse

If you have always wanted to try patchwork quilting different fabrics together but found the task too daunting, this class is for you. This purse uses a “faux” patchwork technique that is easier, faster, has more artistic flair, and is adaptable to all kinds of projects. You will make a fully lined, shoulder strap purse that is decorated with printed fabric motifs, fibers, buttons and found objects. Sewing machine experience is helpful, although you only need to know how to stitch a straight line.

Kit fee of $10 payable to instructor at class time includes: Pattern, written instructions, fabrics, printed fabric imagery, materials for making the shoulder strap .

Supply List :

good fabric cutting scissors,
straight pins
1/3 yard cotton fabric for the purse lining
¼ yard each or fat quarters of 4 or 5 different types of cotton fabric
matching sewing thread
2 large beads that have about ¼” diameter holes
approx. 15 buttons ranging in size from ½” to 1 ½” diameter
a collection of beads, charms and found objects to dangle from purse

This class requires a sewing machine. If it is possible for you to bring your own machine please do so, otherwise a few machines will be available in class to share.
