Encaustic, Foil Collage and Beyond

Learn to paint and monoprint with hot colored wax. We will build a collage using the wax images, other ephemera, text, foils, and several glazes. We will also construct a faux paint panel to use as a holding background for the collage. I will bring samples of other art forms using the faux painting technique.
Kit fee of $ 20.00 payable to instructor at class time includes 5 - 4x6 collage boards, ephemera, text, collage papers, paper for monoprints, images, 3- 8x10 board substrates, 3- 4X6 mat boards, foils, glazes, paint, encaustic basics handout, encaustic collage overview handout and a resource materials guide handout.
Supplies provided by teacher : encaustic wax, the use of the encaustic tools, practice paper, paper towels, brushes, extra images, Q-tips, images for faux painting, and waxed paper.

Aileens Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over glue (green label, no substitutes)
2 -3 old magazines (if you can donate extra magazines, it would be greatly appreciated.)
