This is a vivid, sentimental fabric collage book dedicated to those we love who have passed away. We will make a 12x12 six-page book where each page or spread is dedicated to someone you love. For example, one spread could be your grandparents; the next spread your favorite artists and the last of your dog Fluffy who passed away. This book is meant to be a personal empowerment keepsake with pockets, charms, photos, trims, fabrics, patches and such to remind us of those who inspire us. We will use a variety of Day of the Dead and Mexican themed fabrics, as well many other embellishments. This is a Project workshop – students should complete some pages in the Memory Book during the w/s.

All supplies will be provided by the instructor. This is a fabric workshop, a sewing machine is helpful, but not required. There will be a generous amount of fabric glues for those who do not wish to sew. There will be a sewer on hand, or students are encouraged to bring their own machine if they know they want to sew their book. While there will be many pictures to choose from, students are encouraged to bring fabric images of their personal photos (contact instructor for directions, basically print out your pictures on fabric sheets that can be purchased at the craft store).
