Deb Trotter

Student Level:  All levels

This class is based on my published article in the July/August issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors entitled, “Cowgirl Companion Shrinelets.” Each participant will complete one personalized shrinelet. Participants will design and construct a shrinelet consisting of wood, a tin nicho, paper, vintage photographs, and various embellishments. Class will cover the following:  design and composition;  coloring and blending on wood & paper with both chalk & paint;  sanding & shaping wood;  creating support systems to insure the leveling of the shrinelet components;  gluing and bracing pieces of the shrinelet together;  creating balance and interest with embellishments;  and devising a design for the inside of the tin nichos.

Kit Fee of $15 payable to instructor at class time includes one authentic hand made, Mexican tin nicho (valued at $12), one wooden block (professionally cut & sanded for you, valued at $3), vintage cowgirl images (from the artist’s personal collection), & various embellishments.  PLEASE NOTE:  The materials for this workshop are relatively expensive, therefore, your instructor will supply all other major materials necessary.
