Collage on Canvas
$60
Claudia Roulier
Student Level: All levels
Wonder why your work seems to float, why the elements don't fit, why it looks like it needs something.......? Want to learn the basics of "putting it all together" on a canvas, something that will be ready to hang when the class is over? We will learn how to layer, do backgrounds and simple tricks to pull a piece together. I will show several techniques for backgrounds and integrating foregrounds and making your work more interesting, using photos and photo transfers.
Instructor will have various odds and ends, ephemera and a handout.
Supply List:
Two 4 inch canvases, gallery wrap sides
Favorite palette of paint plus black for the edges, if you don't know what colors to bring, I suggest black, Quinachrome gold or Nickel Aso, Naptha red light, yellow ochre and phalo blue or paynes gray, gesso, at least three colors
Couple of brushes, one for detail or small work and medium size for washes and spreading gel
