“Because” Tassel Art Doll
$135
Robin Dudley-Howes
Student Level: All Levels (must have basic hand sewing skills)
This class is exclusive to Art Unraveled and is a process oriented class. Taking my innovative tassel making into the form of an art doll head, we will focus on a simple basket weave technique to make the “hat” of the tassel along with creative ways to attach a platform for the beautiful porcelain face. An additional tassel will be made as part decoration to the main tassel along with silk flower embroidery and creative ways to attach the “hair”. The tassel head will be the main focus of the class with an overview of attaching the head and arms to the manikin. A detailed outline will be provided for reference.
Kit fee of $15 payable to instructor at class time includes “The Face” by Diane Breigleb for below retail, rayon lamp makers fringe (hand dyed), gold cord, yarn for tassel, velvet ribbon, silk ribbon, vintage velvet leaves, crown, antique lace, rhinestones, pearls, decorative buttons, nest and eggs, arms
