Student Level: All Levels

Are you seeking a breakthrough experience? Although you may already know countless techniques from gels to transfers, sometimes you just don’t know where to begin. This class offers a variety of methods for entering your artwork. We will explore a number of freeing art actions and strategies, including chance operations, drawing, and constructing with a wide range of mixed media and everyday materials. The aim is to prepare the way for fresh insights and new approaches to your work, a kind of art laboratory. Sas will present a series of exercises to guide you through processes dealing with line, composition and language. This is an experimental class with an emphasis on process, resulting in a valuable portfolio for future reference.

Instructor’s note: Lots of experimentation with drawing in groups, working with collage, exercises in ways of seeing, getting beyond the fear of drawing. Learning to love the mark you make.
