This is a project class where we will be learning encaustic techniques as we create a multi-layered collage. Guided by our intuition, we will choose images that have special meaning to us and layer by layer we will build the collage and then finish with a coat of shimmering iridescent encaustic wax. There will be a demonstration of embedding, wax transfer and inlay techniques. Each student will take home a beautiful layered collage of their own design and will have learned quite a few encaustic techniques.

Kit Fee of of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes: wax and brushes, transfers, collage sheets, wood boards to work on .

Supplies provided by instructor include: stabilo pencils, linen thread, botannical material, oil paint, tools for incising, vinyl gloves, heat gun, student packets

Supply list:
acrylic paints (cheap bottles of craft paint are fine) - you'll need black & white too
brushes- a selection of at least 3
favorite collage images - inkjet just fine
scissors
glue stick
