Vintage Beaded Photo Pins
Date: Thursday, August 26, 2004
Time: 6pm - 10pm
Instructor: Ricë Freeman-Zachery
Cost:
$45

These little face pins are fun and easy to do, and once you get the technique, you can make pins with the faces of everyone you love! They can be round, square, rectangular, or odd-shaped. In class, we'll be making at least one pin (maybe more--it depends on how much embellishing you want to do) with the face from an old photograph. We won't be using your own family photos in class because that would require a scanner, computer, and really good printer (to get the facial details). But I'll bring old photos already on transfer sheets and show you how to do it all so you can go home and scan and print your own photographs for future pins.

Supply List :

--a thimble, if you use one to sew (I don't, but I know some people do)
--any special beads, buttons, charms, etc., you want to use
--scissors for cutting fabric (and thread)
--seed beads--I'll bring these, but if you have some you like, bring those, too

If you'd like to bring color copies of family photos, it's always fun to talk to others about what you plan to do with them and exchange ideas.

All you really need to bring is your scissors and enthusiasm, but feel Free to bring anything else!

What I'll bring:

everything else! photo transfers, muslin, backing, felt, glue, pin backs, needles, thread, beads, iron, ironing "board," etc.
