Etching metal is a terrific compliment for many mixed-media art techniques and a wonderful way to personalize your jewelry. Learn how to safely chemical etch copper sheet using rubber stamp images. Level up your work by adding a personal quote or power word in your own handwriting. Next, we'll bring the skills all together with metalworking FUNdamentals such as cutting and sawing metal, riveting, making metal fibers and handmade clasps and incorporating dyed seam binding and silk ribbons. If you have never made jewelry before, instructor will guide you through the steps and demonstrate beginning steps to keep frustration at bay. For those with intermediate jewelry making skills, Jen will demo some stepped up techniques for using metal and resin to create unique handmade components that you will have time to practice and create. Students will walk out with at least one completed necklace and a second etched focal. Intermediate jewelry students may be able to complete two necklaces.
