Create a unique, one of a kind handbag that is durable enough to be a bookbag, grocery tote, or a handbag. Nuno wet felting techniques bonds loose wool fibers into a sheer fabric such as silk, creating a fabric that is both durable, unique, and beautiful.

You will learn to dye your own silk and use the nuno wet felting techniques which seem almost magical. Through a process of wetting the wool, rolling in bubble wrap and creating friction, the wool fibers migrate through the silk and attach themselves. Using some hot water causes the wool to shrink, creating that interesting texture in the silk that is so appealing. You will be able to complete at least one project in our time together.

The process of felting involves standing and rolling with your arms and upper body, so it can be a bit strenuous. I am always available for help with rolling, but if you have back issues or can't be on your feet for long periods, unfortunately this class might not be the best choice.
