Are you an absolute beginner in mixed media or an intermediate artist stuck in a rut wanting to learn new things? Sometimes books are just not as good as seeing the technique demonstrated and trying it yourself. Join mixed media artist Caitlin Dundon for demonstrations and hands-on exploration of over 38 mixed media techniques and variations including: gesso, acrylic painting techniques, acrylic gels, stamping techniques, stenciling, crackle gel, collage, and more. Each student will create a great set of swatches of sample techniques on a set of mini loose leaf journal pages with labels for each technique along with ring binder clips to take home for reference for future projects or to use as a future journal. Try all the techniques or just do your favorites and variations. An excellent and inspirational journey of letting go and discovery.

Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):

• $15.00 includes:
• set of 20 mini journal pages 4.5" x 5.5" with ring binder clips
• use of additional acrylic paints
• acrylic gels
• black gesso
• crackle gel
• crackle paste
• collage papers
• tissue paper
• interference paint, etc.
• pre-printed labels for each technique

Student should bring:

• 8 oz white gesso (can be shared with a friend)
• 8 oz soft gel (matte) (can be shared with a friend)
• 2-3 colors of acrylic paint (instructor recommends Golden)
• 1/2" or 3/4" flat paint brushes
• bag of makeup wedges
• water container
• paper towels

Optional:

• your own favorite rubber stamp patterns (large patterns work best) and/or stencils, or other "tools" like sponges, plastic forks, knives, combs, etc.
