The word "nuno" means cloth in Japanese. It was first done about 30 years ago and is a relatively new art form. We will arrange (the artsy part) wool roving onto silk gauze and manipulate the silk and fibers into a whole new fabric to make a scarf. I will have silk ribbons, Angelina fibers, and other interesting add-ins to make your scarf unique. Not needle felt, not old school wet felting, but easy to wear, soft, colorful, art around your neck. Beginning nuno felting for the absolute novice. Your brain will be on fire with the possibilities and it's something you will want to do again and again.

Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):

• $25 supply fee includes:
• Hand dyed silk gauze
• Fine Merino wool roving
• Hand dyed silk chiffon ribbons
• Assorted fibers for embellishing scarf
• Bubble wrap and netting
• Towels

Optional:

• If you choose to bring your own supplies, please email me with further instructions. You can purchase a felting kit at hobby lobby for about $10. It's not merino wool but would give you the same experience. You will need to bring the netting and bubble wrap as well.
