This is a really fun class! You will learn how to fuse pure gold to silver to create beautiful jewelry. The only restriction is your imagination. You'll also learn a simple way to make ear wires.

Students will learn: Proper Keum Boo techniques, roller printing, making ear wires, using liver of sulfur gel and brass brush for finishing.

Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):

  • 2" x 3" 22 gauge Fine Silver sheet
  • 3.5" x 3.5" - 24 kt. gold foil
  • 12" - 22 gauge Sterling Silver round wire

Instructor Provided (for use in-class, and to share):

  • Hot plates
  • Wire rounder
  • Liver of sulfur gel
  • Rolling mill w/patterns
  • Round Mandrel pliers
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Hole punch pliers
  • Agate burnishers
  • Wood dapping set

Student should bring:

  • X-Acto-Knife w/#11 blade
  • 400 grit sand paper
  • Jeweler's saw w/3/0 blades
  • Bench Pin
  • Files
  • Sharpie Marker
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Half round pliers

Suggested:

  • Hole punch 1.25mm
  • Wire rounder (hand burr)
  • Disc cutter
  • Agate Burnisher (2 are better)
  • Scrap book scissors (different patterns)
  • Patterns for roller printing
  • Wubber's Med. Rd mandrel pliers
