Nothing lights up a painting, collage or other artwork like metallic media! And nothing brings out metallics like textural surfaces! The day will start with the students drawing simple designs on their canvases. Students will then work with various acrylic media to add textured areas to their designs. These textures will then be painted, then foils, leafs, and actual metals will be added to "light up" the work. Printed images and found objects can be added as needed. Handouts for this class will be in a coil bound book providing a permanent reference for students to take home.
$15 supply fee payable to instructor at class time for paints, hand-outs, mediums and other misc. supplies
Supply List: Cheap acrylic brush - ¾" - 1" wide, 2 water containers (about the size of a 1 lb. Cottage cheese container), Stretched canvas at least 11" x 14". Students may wish to bring more than one canvas to make a triptych or diptych., Beads, fibers and other ephemera (optional, instructor will bring some to share), Printed images (optional), Masking tape, Small Quilting Iron (optional, instructor will have some to share), Pencil, Eraser
