Art of the Layered Page

Spend a fun-filled afternoon learning the "Art of the Layered Page". First we will assemble a book from scratch and then proceed to spend time using gesso, acrylics, glazes, gel mediums, washes, tissue papers and more, we will create unique handmade pages. A large detailed 13 page handout of over 90 tips, tricks and techniques is included in class. Stamping, surface embellishment and finding ways to use ordinary household objects to create texture and depth are just some of the things we will do. The pages inside are lovingly layered into one of a kind artist pages. Get ready to spend the day assembling an artist book. You will walk out of class with an original book that can be used for anything from art journaling to a unique display of your art! Golden paints, golden glazes, various re-inkers, oil pastels, lumieres, pearl ex are just some of the products we will be using in this fun, fast paced class. PLEASE wear old clothes.

If you have them, please bring the following: black permanent ink pad, Scissors, bone folder, cork back metal ruler and brayer.

NOTE: Kelly generously provides materials for her workshops including top of the line art supplies from Golden, Newton Winsor and other well known art supply manufacturers, saving you the cost of buying paints, mediums, glazes, etc. Please refer to the individual workshop description for the tools you will need to bring to class.
