The Garden Ghost Journal is a beautiful handmade book with a very unusual binding that will allow it to lie flat when open, and look stunning when closed.

Each inside page is a translucent envelope through which can be seen the "ghost" of the flower photograph within it, and which has the capacity to contain plant tags, seed packs, notes and any other information you may gather about that flower as time goes on. The envelope pages and photographs are waterproof and tear-proof and can last a lifetime.

We will embellish the exteriors of the envelope pages with stenciled designs and garden quotes which we will typeset with rubber stamps. These gorgeous pages will be wire-edge bound to hard covers which we will also create in our workshop.

Although we will construct our workshop sample journal on a garden theme, this is a book format that can be adapted as a collector's journal for any area of interest.

All materials will be furnished including a Red Letter Typesetting Alphabet and Letter Setter from Cre8it ($40 value) and enough Sheer Heaven and White Magic to complete the project ($20 value). Sheer Heaven and White Magic are premium synthetic art papers.

Please bring these tools (and wear old clothes):

A metal ruler and bone folder
A good pair of paper cutting scissors
A sharpened or mechanical pencil with 3H or 4H lead
A craft knife with replacement blade and small cutting mat
A heat tool if you have one
rubber cutting scissors
double stick tape
A selection of ink pads (any type) in garden colors.
A darning needle.
Photographs:
4x6 color photographs of eight of your favorite flowers. If you do not have such a collection of photographs, you will be able to choose from our selection.--
