Ricë Freeman-Zachery

Ricë has been making things for as long as she can remember. Her dolls have been featured in galleries and shops in Texas, Albuquerque, Taos, Denver, Seattle and Tacoma. Her voodoo dolls are available in the French Quarter in New Orleans, a dream come true.

A former college English instructor, she's written for many publications: Art Doll Quarterly, Belle Armoire, Cat Fancy, Legacy, Personal Journaling, RubberStampMadness and Somerset Studio.

Her first book, Stamp Artistry, was published in 2003 by Rockport. Her second, on altered artwear, is due out in October 2004. Rice collaborated in the project featured in The Art Doll Chronicles.

She's currently obsessed with either making or altering everything she wears, from handbeaded bracelets to painted shoes to her Journal Clothes.
