The relationship between photography and art is the result of photographers through out history wanting to compose their work in new and unique ways. Declaring their work as more than a pretty picture in a pretty frame they instead capture a moment as they see it. In celebration of these moments we will be combining favorite photos with various art forms. This isn't your typical photo transfer class. Techniques include sketching a self portrait from a photograph, enhancing the emotion of your photo with water color paper, photograms, how to blend photos with other mediums, decay process, how to use large negatives and new polaroid experiments. These techniques are very doable at home without expensive equipment. Each student will receive a canvas pouch lined with pockets to encase their large 6x4 finished photographs. Combine fabric scraps, found objects, and photos to create a beautiful mixed media cover.
Supply List: Scissors, glue stick, large spray bottle, exacto/mat, sketching pencil, uni-ball fine point pen, brayer, rubber stamp alphabet set and permanent black ink pad, small grommets/setting tool, bring one of your favorite mediums to work with, chalk, paint, portfolio pastels, crayons, colored pencils ect. don't bring them all, one will be enough.
