Malana Watt Corn

This Tucson Native is the daughter of an artist father and a teacher mother. Art runs in the family, as her only sibling, a brother makes his living as an artist. Both of her grandmothers were artists too. It's been during the last ten years that she's gradually made a move from her formal education of nursing, working as an RN, into the world of art, mostly via stamp art. In 2000 she became certified as a professional demonstrator (CPD) by Hobby Industry Assn.

In 1999 she started traveling with Suze Weinberg, as stand-in demo artist and art director for her shows. She and Suze have collaborated on a number of ideas, including the hot pot and various UTEE techniques. The touring ended in late 2000 when Malana's father became ill and required more attention at home in Tucson. But during that time she mingled with some of the brightest performers in the stamping world, learning and appreciating all the way.

Today she is the past owner of Creative Daze Stamping Arts (shop of 7 years). Monthly she facilitates Tucson's biggest and longest running stamp art club, SALSA. In addition she is a member of PaperWorks, a paper arts guild.

She has among her teaching and demo venues: the Carson Conventions in California, The Craft Barn in England, the Prescott Resort Stamping Retreat, a 9 week course in stamping for the Tucson Parks and Recreation to adults and children, and various other classes in stores or her Tucson studio.
