Drama, mystery, excitement -- all of these effects can be achieved using black paper as a support. Colored pencils, bleach, pearl-ex, and other experimental media will be explored. Participants will also work with chalks, direct to paper techniques and embossing. At the end of class, students will compile a booklet of their samples for future reference.

Supply List: Colored Pencils, White colored pencil, Watercolor brushes in small sizes, from "2-"00, Mixing brushes, 6 6-part mixing pans and/or Dr. Martin's 30 well plastic tray, Distilled water with bottle and dropper, gum arabic, Paper towels, X-acto knife, Factis 18 black eraser, T-square, Embossing Pad, Heat gun, stamp pads and embossing powders, Black paper or card stock, matte or glossy
Optional: acrylic gloss medium, acrylic matte medium, Versamark watermark stamp pad, Versamark pen, glue pen, double-sided tape, stencils, rubber stamps, x-acto knife, Pearl-ex powdered pigments, or any mica powders that you have, decorating chalks, spray fixative
