Beaded Bag Lady
Date: Sunday, August 29, 2004
Time:
9am – 5:30pm
Instructor: Roberta Altshuler
Cost: $150
If you have never strung a bead before or have some experience this class will get you addicted. You will learn basic peyote (a fundamental stitch) to create a bezel around one of my own pewter faces,
learn fringing techniques and necklace stringing - all this on a crocheted amulet bag body. Spectacular techniques will produce a piece you will treasure forever.
This is one of the coolest classes I have ever taught. The Bag ladies were my first venture into Amulet bags way back in the early 1990s and those who own one treasure them. Every once in a while I get one of the original bags medivaced in for repairs, when a foot or hand gets pulled off. This class will be the first time I have revisited them in years.
I do it all for you; crochet the bag, supply the pewter face for the focal point of the piece, and all the beads you will need. You bring yourself and I promise you will be dazzled.
Extra kits will be available for $20.00.
Materials: All supplied
Tools: small scissor, Ott light (if you have one), reading or magnifying glasses if needed.
