Altered Surface on Metal

Be introduced to the hip look of adding color, layers and style to metalwork. Learn Susan's personal methods, formulas and techniques for altering the appearance and creating impressions and images on copper, brass and silver. Work with formulas to create colorful patinas or emulate artifacts from a lost civilization. Use piercing to create negative space.

Learn a variety of techniques for etching including, photocopy and Rubber stamp etching and etching on sterling silver. Lapidary Journal states, "Kazmer's love for layering metals and patinas has made her a pioneer in the field of patinations."

There is a $6.00 kit fee payable to instructor at class time which includes silver, copper and brass sheet metal, sandpaper, photocopy, film transfer and use of enamels, etching solution and patina solutions.
