Olivia Thomas is a mixed media artist who has resided in Phoenix for the last 23 years, studying and dabbling in all sorts of art media. Her father was a terrific artist and cartoonist who passed on the joy of playing with paint and crayons to her very early in her life. But the real fun began when she received a sewing machine for her 13th birthday! She immediately set out to create her own wardrobe and went on to continue her formal education at design school in the hopes of becoming a famous dress designer. She realized this dream several years later, by designing dresses for dolls for her own folk art company, Olive Rose. Her creative process combines paints, crayons and fabric and she loves to experiment and produce interesting mixed media work. She shares her ideas and discoveries with other artists in the hope that she will inspire the artistic muse in others.
