Mickie McCormic has a background in graphic art, has worked extensively in photo silk screen and surface design, and lives now in Southern Oregon . She has degrees in printmaking from Oberlin and in Pre-Columbian fabrics from Goddard, and is the Oregon representative for the Surface Design Association. Her recent work is divided between alternative photo processes on fabric and art dolls. Her mixed media dolls, puppets, and assemblages are made from recycled materials, and often involve elements cast in papier mâché.
