
In this Technique/Project workshop learn the techniques for creating a more durable and useful version of the Artist Trading Card (ATC). We’ll go beyond basics by not only learning how to substitute polymer clay for paper, but by learning how to create them in a functional format which includes both hinged and pocket versions. Other techniques that will be covered in class include: image transfers, surface treatments (including foil appliqué, use of leafing, stamping, and millefiori basics), and mixed media embellishment.
Instructor will provide the following: Polymer clays, powders, stamps, inks, leafing, transfer media, embellishments, wire, beads, dowels, cutters, baking sheets, deli sheets and baby wipes.
Supply List:
Clay dedicated pasta machine with a medium to large “C” clamp
X-acto type craft knife
clay blade (available through most craft stores where polymer clay is sold)
8” x 8” or larger-smooth ceramic tile
scissors
Optional:
your own rubber stamps and
colored inks if you have some favorites
