Encaustic Art and Foil Collage - WORKSHOP FILLED -

During the first part of the workshop, students will learn the basics of Encaustic (painting with hot colored wax) including monoprinting to be used as collage. The second part of the workshop will deal with layers of collage using monoprints, text, ephemera, game pieces, tinted glazes, photos, stamped images and colored foils. Each student will finish 3 to 5 3-1/2" x 5” mini collages, all differently creative.

Kit fee of $13.00 payable to Instructor at class time. Kit includes Encaustic art: paper for painting and paper for monoprinting, plus the use of thermal tools and colored waxes. Foil collage: Ephemera, text, game pieces, some resurfaced papers, images, colored foils, and 6 3-1/2 x 5” surfaces to collage on.

Supplies provided by teacher:
Encaustic tools and wax
Q-tips
paint
painting sponges
tinted and clear glazing mediums
rubber stamping materials
stencils.

Supply List:
Aleene’s Tack-it over and over pressure sensitive glue (no substitute)
scissors (I will provide a few for those who cannot carry them on a plane)
glue stick
notebook and pencil
