In this process driven workshop you will explore and learn several different imaginative ways to work with epoxy resin to create beads, faux stones, and cabochons. Working with a clear two-part epoxy resin, learn to pour, roll and cut, and cast in simple plastic molds. Learn how to color, tint and mix other materials into the resin for surprising effects. We will learn to embed photos, fibers, dried flowers, charms, or just about anything else you can think of (including other beads!!) inside the resin with beautiful results. Learn how to make faux amber, faux abalone and faux dichroic glass. You’ll also learn to make faux semi-precious stones such as opal, turquoise and rutilated quartz. All of which can be made into beads, drops, cabochons, buttons or pendants.
A KIT fee of $25.00 payable to instructor at class time includes: 8 ounces of resin, 8 ounces of hardener (it is a 1 to 1 ratio system), a bottle of mold release, reusable plastic molds, several graduated measuring / mixing cups, paint brushes and disposable mixing sticks.
Available in class will be a full selection of translucent dies, opaque dies, powders, pigments and fibers for producing the afore mentioned faux stones and other various techniques. There will also be a good selection of reusable molds available that are different than the ones provided in the participants’ kits as well as jewelry findings for making component parts for your next bracelet, necklace or earring set. Making resin jewelry is fun, simple and beautiful.

anything to embed into the resin. These items should be approximately the size of a quarter or smaller. They can include photos, paper, charms, trinkets etc. Participants can also bring stamped and embossed images for coating approximately 3” x 3” or smaller.
