Altered Cover Cards $70

Join Roben-Marie for a class which puts a clever twist on the traditional greeting card. In Altered Cover Cards we will literally be "altering" the covers of books, which have been removed and separated from the inside pages. The fronts of the cards will be collaged, painted, stamped, layered and more to create one-of-a-kind "altered cover card" creations! The back of the cover will then be coordinated to match the front and become the side on which your greeting will be written. Come prepared to tap into your creative self and design some unique pieces! Please note that kit contents will vary and will include a variety of items that will be used to create your cards. Students will leave with several completed cards.  

Supply List:
Two large glue sticks
scissors
black dye ink pad
cutting mat
heat tool
3 foam brushes
2 stipple or bristle paint brushes
small box of crayons
black writing marker
washcloth in a bag or baby wipes.

Optional Supplies:
Personal paper trimmer
Japanese Screw Punch with 3mm tip
your favorite alphabet stamps.

Please note: the instructor will be providing ephemera, collage materials, papers and other items to use in creating your cards, but feel free to bring any of the following items to enhance your creations: buttons, old papers, scrapbook papers and gift wrap, lace and ribbons, color copies of images such as children, windows/doors, etc., any three-dimensional items such as chip board letters, metal objects, etc. and stickers or rub-on words. All other materials necessary to complete the project are provided by the instructor.
