These tiny books have blossomed into much more than I could ever have imagined. Let me share their story, as told in the summer 2012 issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry.

I had just attempted to etch a batch of pre-made brass cuffs. Everything seemed fine until my timer went off, and I pulled the first one out of the etching solution. What I found was over-etched metal. Needless to say, I was disappointed, but I quickly took the remaining pieces out of the solution then set them aside, not really knowing what to do with them next. About a week or two later, I decided that I would salvage the “good” from the “over-etched”, and what seemingly looked like a batch of useless metal, became what I call Tiny Books with Lots of Heart.

What happened that day simply emphasizes what I have come to believe, and that is…there are no mistakes in jewelry design, just another creative idea waiting to be born. I think these tiny books are the perfect example of that very belief!

Won’t you join me, as I jump start your creative energy into designing your very own tiny book? Perhaps attach a tiny resin charm that you can make in my Watchfull Resin Charms class, or maybe attach a little nestie or a piece of brass filigree. Whatever you decide, I’m sure it will be filled with lots of heart, just like mine!
