In this 2 day advanced workshop in soldering techniques, Tom challenges participants to delve deeply into the engineering and fabrication issues relative to one of the most basic metalsmithing practices by executing several soldering exercises ranging from the simple to the rather complex. Some, will be done against the clock! All are designed to give the participant a broad understanding of the solder systems that will enhance their metalsmithing skill set.

Tools and Equipment - Soldering Innovations (Air/Gas, Oxy/Gas)
Primary Techniques (Stick, Pallion, Wire Fed, Sweat & Butt)
Solder Engineering - The Heat Sink Phenomenon;
Project/Exercises (Melt It, Wire World, Cityscape and the ever popular Saw/File/Solder Team Sprint Contest).
