Weave It Bracelets

Combine fibers and wire with the ancient craft of weaving to make unique bracelets and embellish them to show off your style. Students will use common household items as mandrel-looms to create at least two bracelets similar to the photos. In this workshop students will be encouraged experiment with weaving techniques to create their own unique bracelets.
Supply list :
- Copper, brass, and steel wire – 16, 18, 20, and 22 gauge, non-coated
- Copper and brass wire – 26, 28 gauge for beads and embellishments
- Beads, charms, small found objects
- Fiber, ribbon, yarn, twine, thin cord
- Round nose and flat nose pliers
- Files
- Wire cutters
- Nylon jaw pliers
- Hammer to flatten wire
- Small hammer
- Bench block or small anvil
- Small metal file
- Tape – masking tape works well
- Ruler or tape measure
- Sharpie permanent marker
- Eye Protection
- Something to use as a mandrel/loom – this can be a water bottle, aerosol can (my favorite), jar, or tumbler . It just needs to be approximately the same diameter as you wish your bracelet to be.
