Timepiece Talisman
Friday $135 Melanie Schow 9:00 am to 4:30 pm Student Level: Intermediate: student should have 3-4 wire classes
Type of Workshop: Project
With a nod to the Steampunk genre this design uses a pocket watch works as a focal point and warm, brass colored metals and hardware. Learn to capture a vintage timepiece in wire; then embellish the face of the watch with wire, beads and findings. Create a unique necklace to enhance your focal with more beads, found objects, hardware and chain. Design elements, options and ideas will be discussed: symmetrical or not; embellished or spare; all tied together with color, metals in matte and shiny finishes and a sense of movement. Your personalized timepiece talisman will transport you like a time machine where ever your imagination may wander. Sounds unlikely, just too much time talk, then time out - simply enjoy wearing your design in this time zone.
