Students should complete the project in class. Components will be completed, assembly may be required on own time.
In this class student will learn the basics of using a hand held torch to solder fine bezel wire together, to solder on jump rings and to solder fine bezel wire in the shape of small coins or medallions. They will learn why there is medium and easy solder and how it is used. Each medallion will have two jump rings soldered, one to each side, to enable the student to create a necklace or bracelet by attaching them with jump rings they themselves have made.
Instructor will provide 7 medallions or foreign coins, enough fine bezel wire for each medallion, 16g sterling wire for jump ring and a clasp, silver solder paste in both medium and easy.
The instructor will provide all tools and materials used in this class. Some tools must be shared by the students. Students are welcome to bring their own tools if they wish. Tools being used are round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, sheers, solderite board, tweezers, pick, torch, fuel, copper tongs, hammer, anvil, nylon jaw pliers, flat nose pliers, files, medium wrap’n’tap.
