Vestiges: a trace of something, a remnant, fragment or relic. Doesn't that sound wonderful? I think we all have collection... and now is the time to use them! Work with watercolor and acrylic inks on translucent Yupo paper and create papers for collage. Yupo paper is a poly substance originally used in photo processing. It's a wonderful surface to experiment on with watermedia. We'll work with the dropped in color technique to provide harmonious glowing surfaces of inks and watercolor combinations on paper. For the collage areas, we'll paint, build textures, and hand stitch to create small vestige collages. Embroidery stitching onto the collaged Yupo paper will create visual interest with line. This combo will be a very unique assemblage filled with possibilities for further experimentation.

Students will paint and assemble a mixed media work on Yupo paper.
