This class is great for intermediate and advanced students. A basic understanding of drawing is needed for this class. There will be some aids and techniques taught if you are not advanced in drawing that will be fun and easy tricks for beginner students and intermediate students. The unique nature of color use and materials will give the advanced students and fun approach to traditional styles.

Kellie Newsome is a bright and colorful artist that will teach you how to turn a photo of any animal into a fun and whimsical doodle. Bring your own photo of your pet (color photo on plain copy paper cropped to have just head and shoulders works best, to a 5"x7") to recreate something unique and colorful or use one of Kellie's photos! Her easy to understand instructions will help you decide colors and build your painting with professional grade tools. She will help you understand color (replacing traditional colors with funky bright colors) while helping you become loose in representation. This style of creating provides great inspiration to add splashes of color and vibrant marks to any subject matter. You will have a complete doodle of your animal on a 5" x 7" watercolor paper at the end of class that is ready to frame! Added bonus: Kellie has been teaching this class for many years and is always a big ball of energy and is a lot of fun to be around!!! Everyone will have a good time and learn tons of information!
