Do you ever get to a certain point on a journal page and then become at lost as to how to finish it? Feeling stuck? Expressive hand lettering can add that finishing touch. It doesn't have to be slick, it's best when it isn't - as long as it comes from you.

Of course, the hand lettering could be the main event on you page as well. Whichever - it is a fun!

Instructor provides prompts to get your expressive lettering on. We will use a variety of techniques involving pens, markers, watercolor and brush!

Attendees may bring their unfinished journals/sketchbooks that may need an extra somethingsomething. If you don't have a journal, no problem, watercolor sheets will be provided.

Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):

  • $15 includes everything needed for this class (except your journal, water bucket and paper towels)

    OR you can bring your own:

  • Crayola colored markers
  • PITT pens/ or Sharpie black marker in fine point
  • Chip brush
  • Small watercolor brush for lettering
  • Small watercolor set
  • 6" ruler
  • India ink and pen with flat lettering nib
  • Gel pen in white and black
  • Regular ball point pen
  • Pencil and eraser
  • Water bucket
  • Paper towels

Student should bring:

  • If you do not want to pay for the Kit fee of $15, please bring the items listed under the Materials Fee.

Optional:

  • Copic markers in light colors
  • Journal, sketchbook and/or watercolor paper
  • Bring a found stick for writing French curve
